HYDRAULIC SLEEVES
Hydraulic sleeves are manufactured to your general specifications in two basic configurations.
One type grips both the arbor and the bore of the cutter by hydraulic pressure. It has a retainer nut to keep the cutter in place while pressurizing the sleeve. This nut is only tightened hand tight. The nut will not be able to be removed while there is pressure in the sleeve.
The second type will grip the arbor only as it is pressurized. The cutter is retained on the sleeve by bolting it to the flange of the sleeve.
The advantage of using a
hydraulic sleeve is the fine repeatability in centering the cutter to reduce
O.D. runout, thereby giving a better surface finish on the material being
